Thanksgiving in Sturgis

Yesterday, my sister attempted a difficult task....54 people in one picture! She had all of the grandkids, their spouses, and great-grandkids get together for a picture that she is going to give my grandma for Christmas. Amazingly, all but about 6 could be there and she was able to take their picture on Thanksgiving. Somehow, she is going to crop them in. We were blessed with a gorgeous fall day. I can't wait to see how it all turns out and I will definitely be ordering one!
After the picture, we headed to Sturgis to celebrate Thanksgiving with Brian's family. Because we had all had our fill of turkey on Thursday, we decided to make finger foods instead. The food was great! It was nice because everyone was able to be there at the same time and that rarely happens. Macie was the center of attention, as usual! She had fun playing with everyone and eating!
Such a big girl!
A parent of one of the kids Debbie watches thought that Macie needed a rocky horse so she brought it over for Macie to play with.
A future cowgirl?
A highlight of the day for Brian was when his mom gave him a box that contains a lot of pictures, articles, and a partially completed scrapbook from his football and wrestling careers. It starts from when he was 5 or 6. This is a treasure!

New Coat

Because Macie's coat broke on Thanksgiving, I looked for a new one when I was shopping on Friday. I was able to get a $50 coat for $12.75 at Kohls! I thought it was a great deal! I got a lot of shopping done on Friday and we found a lot of great deals, even though we didn't start until 8:30. More shopping to come...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow....another crazy Thanksgiving! We started out the day watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Next, we headed to my dad's side of the family for lunch. Macie had fun getting lots of attention and playing with Clayton. Brian had fun playing poker and coming out the winner of the day and I enjoyed the food and people. We left there and let Macie take a nap in the car for an hour while we ran home to feed the dogs. Our last stop was my mom's side of the family. This is always a huge event because there are between 75 and 80 people. It can be a little overwhelming. It didn't seem to bother Macie at all. I was just worried that she would get lost in the crowd. It was much simpler last year when she wasn't walking! Once again, we stuffed ourselves and had a great time. Macie was so wiped out she was asleep by the time we pulled out of the drive!
There is still more chaos to come....tomorrow morning, I am going shopping with my dad and sisters. We do every year on black Friday and then go to lunch. On Saturday, my sister, Allie, is going to attempt to take a picture of all of the cousins on my mom's side. That is over 50 people so we shall see! Then, we are going to Sturgis to celebrate Thanksgiving with Brian's family. I am going to need Sunday to recover!!!

Macie loved to look out the door at my Aunt Alice's house. She kept putting her mouth on it because it felt cool.
Clayton had to come and join in on the action
Macie's hair seems to get longer and curlier everyday!

I thought she looked so funny because with that big coat, she could barely move! Unfortunately, the zipper broke off of her vest and coat today! Oh well...
What a cutie!

Macie is a busy girl...

I'm afraid if I don't write down some of the things Macie is up to, I will forget! She is just so busy and is always learning something new. She amazes us!

Macie's vocabulary seems to be expanding every day! Here are some of the things she says now: Dada
Nana or mama
no no
bite
Oh (when she bops down or falls on purpose)
Uh Oh
Oww
Pap (pacifier)
Cacr (cracker)
dipa (diaper)
papa (grandpa and pops)
bubu (bye bye)
up
lo (hello)
nana (banana)

She also signs for more.

She now sings along with the theme song to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When she pushes the button on her toy, she starts dancing and saying, "ba ba ba, ba ba ba ba". It is hilarious!

She has started walking backwards and "showing off" to get a reaction from people.

She plays hide and seek and sometimes walks around the house with her burp cloth over her eyes. She has run into the wall more than once!

You can ask her to take something to someone and she will. She is also getting good at bringing stuff to you. This may come in handy when Gavin comes.

She tries to carry heavy things around and grunts as she is doing it.

She points to every picture or object around and wants you to take her to it and talk about each thing.

She has at least 10 teeth but more seem to be popping thru every day!

She growls at toys or people when she is unhappy.

I'm sure that I haven't mentioned something, but I just can't possibly remember it all!

Sunday Night Football

Tonight the Colts played the New England Patriots during Sunday Night Football. We had Rachel and Eric over. As usual, we had good food and great company. Macie had a good time flirting with Eric and actually went to bed without much of a fuss. Right now it is the 3rd quarter and the Colts are down by 10....hopefully they can pull it together and win! Go Colts!!!!
I don't think I will be able to wear my jersey much more this season...I'm busting at the seams!
Look at all that yummy food...chips and ranch dip, potato wedges, shimp ring, stuffed mushrooms, rotel dip and brownies with chocolate icing! A pregnant woman's dream come true!

It's a Date!

One of the nurses at Dr. Crutcher's office called me today to let me know that they had scheduled my c-section. We are planning on Gavin William coming into the world on February 1st at 10:30 in the morning. Of course, I am realistic in thinking that there is a chance he could come before that, but it is nice to have an "end date". I got some other good news today. My glucose screening came back within normal limits so no gestational diabetes! Crazily enough, I am now in my third trimester!!!! Holy cow, this pregnancy has FLOWN BY!!!!!!!!! Gavin is moving all the time and I am flat exhausted. 11 and a half weeks to go...

And She's Off!

Macie's everywhere! She goes nonstop all day long. However, this can make it very difficult to take a decent picture of her because she won't STOP long enough! Here are a few pics we were able to get from the last week or so...
Here she is talking on the phone...it's hard to see the phone because she holds it past her ear.
Hot stuff! She will actually wear her sunglasses now...I love the belly hanging out!
Macie's first nightgown and slippers. She will walk around in them!
Trying to get the basketball from Daddy
Macie is always carrying around something that plays music.
She loves to dance!

Learning from the Boys

When Macie goes to Grammie and Pops' house, she has three little kids to play with: 2 boys and a girl. They are all 3 and love and adore baby Macie. She also looks up to them and tries to do what they are doing. This morning, we noticed that Macie was crawling around on the floor pushing her cell phone and making a growling sound. I told Brian that it looked like she was pushing around a car and then it clicked. We called Grammie to see, and sure enough, that is what she is doing. She has been pushing her "car" all over the place and making a "car" sound. It just goes to show how much she is watching everything that is going on around her. What a scary thought!

Holy Spirit Bonfire

Tonight, we went to Holy Spirit for a bonfire. They had hot dogs and marshmallows to roast in the fire, chips, desserts and drinks. Macie was a little clingy, but she was mesmerized by the fire. She also loved people watching. There was a hayride, but there were way too many crazy kiddos on it, so we skipped it this time around. It was a little chilly, but it was a nice family night to visit with friends.

Calling Dada

Macie has started holding my cell phone to her ear and walking around the house. I guess she sees us on the phone enough! Tonight, she put the phone to her ear and said, "dada". I guess she was calling her daddy at work. It was too cute!! I tried to take a picture of her, but of course that didn't work out so well!
